which were installed into concrete ducts in the 1970\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley Walsh, Managing Director \u2013 Heat Networks explains, \u201cNottingham was one of the pioneers of district heating in the UK and we have been contributing to their heat network for almost 30 years, so it\u2019s exciting to be involved in a network-wide survey to gain an in-depth understanding of the current state of the network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith some of the pipework having been in the ground for 50 years, the Nottingham Heat Network has been a great advertisement for decentralised energy and we\u2019re sure it has played a massive role in giving many other towns, cities and organisations the confidence to embrace district heating.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-text-image rte\" class=\"quote__text\">With district heating forming a major cornerstone of the city\u2019s ambition to be carbon neutral by 2028, it needs confidence in the future investment required to ensure high quality services to our customers can be delivered in the medium and long term.
